The Three Hebrews

Three young Hebrews are seated atop the censer. The subject is taken from the Book of Daniel (Old Testament): they are condemned to be burned alive by King Nebuchadnezzar of Babylon for refusing to honor a golden statue erected by his order. But an angel sent by God miraculously appears in their midst and comes to their rescue. The three Hebrews, seated in various poses, raise their heads toward the sky.
