These four scenes from the Old Testament (or vetero-testamentary ) prefigure the Crucifixion and the Redemption. Moses strikes the rock of Horeb, the water that comes out of it evokes the blood of the wound of Christ. The serpent of brass that Moses fashioned and perched on a staff, which allows those who look at it to be saved, announces the Redemption brought by the death of Christ on the cross. Jacob blesses the sons of Joseph, he crosses his arms in the shape of a cross. The sign of Tau with the blood of the Lamb on the houses, which saved the Hebrews, prefigures the sacrifice of Christ.
